Michael Roark (played Donovan Peck in Dolphin Tale)

Q: What was it like working with Winter?

A: She’s a sweetheart…and a scene-stealer. I’m not sure I could call the time I spent with her work...work is not supposed to be so much fun. She’s definitely not afraid to get you wet.

Q: What do you miss most about CMA?

A: Spending time with the CMA workers and volunteers. David Yates and his staff work really hard to make CMA what it is and it was great to hang with them and get to know them.

Q: Did you get a chance to meet any other dolphins like Panama or Nicholas?

A: I had a chance to meet the whole gang, dolphins, sea turtles, otters, pelicans etc.  Plenty of characters call Clearwater Marine Aquarium their home.

Q: What was your favorite part/what is your favorite memory from filming Dolphin Tale?
A: The “Save Winter Day” racing sequence. We had a lot of extras on those days and they all brought so much energy to the set. Racing back and forth was exhausting but they were right there with us on every take.
Q: What advice do you have for people who might be interested in a career like yours?
A: There are incredible highs and incredible lows in this business. Stay confident and be prepared for the roller coaster.
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: There are plenty of perks to this job. Opportunities to travel, meet interesting and talented people, etc. But for me it comes down to the work...my favorite part is that first moment when the red light turns on or the curtain comes up.
Q: Do you still keep in touch with CMA and/or the "Dolphin Tale family?"
A: Absolutely. I made several good friends from Dolphin Tale and I could not be more proud to have been part of such a great project, especially one that has found an audience with so many kids. And I’m not sure there is anything I would not do for the CMA. “Family” is definitely the word.
